“Stories create community, enable us to see through the eyes of other people, and open us to the claims of others.”
Origin Story
This is the Origin story project, started by the Baraboo High School Social Justice Club, is a project where we as a community can start to learn more about each other and where we all come from. All of our stories are interesting. If you are interested in sharing YOUR story, please note it does not have to be an outstanding story of severe struggles, it can be a success story or even that, JUST a story. This is a safe space to share a story with others in hopes of sharing a little about your history–your Origin Story.
Celebration Story
Are you a Sauk County resident with a Celebration Story to share with the world? Tell us about celebrations from your past, or ways you celebrate today! Your celebration story reflects who you are, what traditions affect the way you observe important events in your lives, how you “do life” with the people you love. By sharing these stories with others in Sauk County, we can appreciate the values we share while more fully understanding the differences among us that make us unique and interesting.
Immigration Story
These stories might be told by people who are themselves immigrants, or by people whose
parents or other loved ones immigrated here; by people who immigrated recently or who came here many years ago; by people who might have done so with full permission of the United States government, or without documentation of permission. Participation of interviewees in this project is entirely voluntary. Their stories are audio recorded, keeping the interviewees’
identities confidential in order to preserve their privacy and safety.
